Swindon Big Knit is putting out a heartfelt call to the community as its biggest blanket‑making year gets underway. With more than forty knitters and crocheters now creating squares at an incredible pace, the project is thriving; but the final stage of turning those squares into full blankets is where help is urgently needed. As the group works towards its ambitious goal of producing 150 blankets for vulnerable people this year, they’re appealing for volunteer sewers to join the effort and help bring these blankets of hope to life.
A heart‑warming surprise came to Swindon Big Knit this week when a local Retirement Living Complex reached out offering to help. Their residents have already begun knitting squares for our Blankets of Hope project; they are angels in armchairs; proving that community spirit and the joy of crafting have no age limit.
