Swindon's crafting community group
Swindon Big Knit brings people together to create handmade items that support the local community. With help from grants and donations the group buys yarn to make knitted, crocheted and sewn items for vulnerable and elderly people, as well as children's jumpers for the women's refuge and story sacks for schools and community groups. The ongoing blankets of hope project provides comfort and warmth to people who need extra support. This gallery shares a selection of the creative makes produced by the group and celebrates the care, colour and community spirit behind every item.
